Access to The Minack is via a steep narrow road.  Porthcurno and the lanes nearby are often congested, especially during the holiday season.

By car

Our postcode is TR19 6JU.   Coming from Penzance, satnav will direct you via the B3283 through the village of St.Buryan. This road has narrow sections are frequently blocked in summer, leading to long delays.

Instead, stay on the A30 through Sennen, then go straight on (ignoring satnav) to the junction with B3315. Turn left onto B3315 and follow signs for The Minack Theatre and Porthcurno.

Parking is free for the duration of your visit, to those visiting the theatre or coming to a performance.

Bike hire

Penzance Cycle Hire offers a choice of ordinary and e-bikes for touring. They include a route map and directions to Porthcurno among their suggested cycle tours.

Please note: There is a metal bike rack in the car park to which cycles can be chained. The Minack does not provide a secure lock up for e-bikes and they are left here at your own risk.

By bus

First Bus runs a service linking Penzance and Land’s End which stops in Porthcurno, a short, uphill walk from the Theatre. 
Designated bus routes are 1/1a and 1b.

The Minack car park is for visitors to the theatre only. 
If you’re visiting Porthcurno beach, please use the car park in the valley.
If you’re visiting Porthchapel beach, there’s a car park next to St Levan Church, 400 metres past the Minack.

Parking for Visitors

if you are visiting the theatre, but not coming to a show, you will be able to park up to 30mins before your visit slot time.  If you arrive too early, you may not be able to park at the theatre.

Our car park space is limited.  We request that you remove your car from the car park immediately after your visit to enable us to accommodate other visitors.

Parking for a performance

The car park will be available 90mins before the start time of the performance.

Accessible parking

If you need accessible parking, spaces are available in the tarmac section of the car park, closest to the theatre entrance. 

Camper vans and large vehicles

We recommend that camper vans and other large vehicles use the car park in Porthcurno valley to avoid steep, narrow approach to the theatre.

Overnight parking

Overnight parking in the theatre car park is not permitted.

Coaches

There is no parking for coaches at the theatre or in Porthcurno.  We are not able to accommodate large groups arriving by coach.

Electric Vehicle Charging

We have 3 EV charging points located at the bottom of the grass car park, next to the ticket shack.
To book and pay for a slot, visit the ticket shack. The cost is £3.50 per hour for a maximum of two hours. 
You will  need to provide your own charging cable and use of our EV chargers is at your own risk.
