Cafe reopening
We are in the final stages of refurbishing our cafe. Until the cafe reopens, you can purchase takeaway drinks and snacks from the Terrace coffee shop in the theatre or the shack in the carpark.

The cafe will reopen from 30 November, however not quite all the new fittings will be in place then, so we ask you patience if you are visiting during the next few weeks.

We aim to make our site available to everyone as far as we can, however the steep, rocky geography of the Minack does create some access limitations.  If you have concerns or questions about access please contact us and we will help in any way we can.

Our Access Facilities

We have ramped access to all the visitor facilities on the site, however the main auditorium and stage are only accessible via long flights of steps.

Our car park has accessible parking bays adjacent to the theatre entrance and there is a ramp for wheelchair access to the visitor centre. Within the site there is ramped access to the exhibition centre and café, and there is an accessible toilet.

If you’re coming to a performance and would like to use the accessible balcony please call our Box Office on +44 (0)1736 810181. Spaces are limited, so please book as early as possible.

A hearing loop is available in the Lower Terraces and on our Accessible Balcony.

We can also provide Assistive Hearing Headsets, suitable for users with or without hearing aids, who may need a little extra boost from our sound.

Due to space limitations, public safety and safety of the infant, wheeled buggies and other infant seating (such as car seats) cannot be admitted to the theatre for performances and visits. We recommend that babies are carried around the theatre in slings and carriers.

Please call the box office or email [email protected] for more details.

Live Transcription

Public wi-fi is available throughout the theatre.  If you wish to use your own live transcription app, such as Live Transcribe, Dragon Anywhere or Otter AI, please let us know in advance, so that we can ensure you are seated in an area close to a speaker and with good wi-fi coverage.

Audio Described Performances

Audio description is provided free of charge on a range of productions at the Minack and is available by arrangement on selected performances.  If you or a member of your party would like to request audio description, please contact the Box Office at the time of booking and we’ll be in touch to confirm your request and answer any questions you may have about this service.

Admission for Carers

We offer a ‘no questions’ free ticket for anyone who needs to bring a carer with them in order to access our site (as visitors or audience). We do not ask for proof or any justification for this and these tickets are not limited to specific areas of the auditorium

Seeing Things Differently

New technology is enabling us to see our theatre in ways Rowena Cade could never have imagined in the 1930s.  Whether it's aerial drone shots, or an immersive 3D virtual Minack, we're thrilled to be able to use the latest technical developments to make our theatre more easily accessible and interactive.  We've been working with the innovative developers at Plan 8 VR on several recent initiatives.  Here's a short video they have created to show you some of the work we've been doing together.
