What is audio description?
Audio Description is a live commentary on the visual performance. This is delivered via a personal transmitter to a single earpiece. The visual elements of the show and the physical action are described while allowing dialogue and music to be heard.
There is also a short audio introduction before the performance, which tells you about the theatre as well as the production, set, costumes, characters and action.
Who is it for?
Audio description is designed for anyone who is blind or partially sighted. The audio describer provides information on the non-textual elements of the story, helping the listener to understand what is happening on stage.
How to book audio description
Audio description is provided free of charge and is available by arrangement on selected performances.
