IMS Prussia Cove: Open Chamber Music concerts 2025
Inspirational chamber music from world-class musicians

IMS Prussia Cove nurtures and inspires world-class musicians and brings outstanding music to Cornwall. Every autumn, IMS Prussia Cove holds a three-week Open Chamber Music seminar, which brings together elite musicians from across the world, creating unique chamber groups which combine different generations and nationalities to bring audiences unforgettable performances.

For over 50 years our work has fostered an exceptional tradition of music-making and we continue to inspire new generations under the Artistic Direction of cellist Steven Isserlis.

This concert series showcases the work of our Open Chamber Music Seminar, featuring outstanding young artists performing alongside some of our celebrated alumni. The concerts will feature a wide range of chamber music, including much-loved works as well as more unusual and contemporary pieces.

Performers and programmes are announced nearer the time. Please visit www.i-m-s.org.uk for updates.

About Trelowarren Chapel, Helston

Disabled access – There is a ramp for the short flight of steps up into the chapel, but you do have to cross a lawn to get to the chapel entrance.

DIRECTIONS to Trelowarren Chapel:
Do not use sat nav! It takes you to a now locked gate, just below Mawgan.

From Helston, take the A3083 towards Culdrose and The Lizard. Just past Culdrose, turn left at the mini roundabout onto the B3293 to St Keverne. At the top of the hill (Mawgan Cross roundabout) take the third exit (do NOT go into Mawgan village), drive past Garras Primary School and keep going straight on for one mile to double lodges.

Turn left where you see the large Trelowarren sign.

Be very careful between the cattle grids as there are wild ponies grazing. Beware of the speed bumps. When you get to the Restoration Gates, take a sharp turn to the right through them to parking. You will be directed to parking and depending on where you park, there will be a short walk to the Chapel.

The entrance is through the side chapel door. There is a short length of grass to cross before the path and a ramp up into the chapel.

There is no street lighting and a torch would be useful for the end of the concert.
