Keep an eye open for actor Mark Harandon as Billy Rawlings, Rowena Cade's gardener, who will be around the theatre between 10am and 1.30pm on Saturdays, Tuesdays & Thursdays, telling tales of the building of Minack and how they were Moving Heaven and Earth.

Things may look a little different 

As we re-open our theatre to the public once more, our priority is to ensure the wellbeing of all our staff and visitors.  Some parts of our service have been altered to help you feel safe and comfortable during your visit.  You may find you are queueing longer than usual and we ask you to be patient and to help our staff and other visitors by respecting social distancing and washing your hands regularly. 


What will be open?

The theatre auditorium, backstage walkway and the theatre gardens will all be open to the public.

What will not be available?

We are not opening any indoor spaces to the public at this time, except for the toilets (see below) so our gift shop, café and exhibition will be closed.  

All visits must be booked in advance 

In order to enable safe social distancing in the theatre, we are reducing our visitor numbers and everyone will need to book in advance.  You can book a 30 minute arrival time slot online.  Your ticket will be sent to you by email.  You must remember to bring your ticket with you, either on your phone or by printing it out. 

Free readmission 

Your advance booking ticket includes free readmission for a visit during the next twelve months.  If you wish to visit a second time, you will still have to book a time slot in advance and tick the free readmission box.  Remember: you will need to bring the confirmation of your original booking with you when you visit again. 

What if I miss my arrival time, can I still get in?

If you have made an advance booking but arrive outside the 30 minute time slot, you will not be guaranteed admission. 

What if I book an advance ticket but am unable to visit on the day?

If you have a valid admission ticket but have been unable to use it, you will still be eligible for free readmission within 12 months (subject to booking another time slot in advance).   

What if I’m unwell?

If you or anyone in your household is unwell, please do not visit the Minack.  Your admission ticket makes you eligible for free readmission within 12 months. 


You will be met in the car park by one of our staff who will check your admission ticket and direct you to a parking space.  If you have not purchased an admission ticket in advance, you are not guaranteed admission to the car park.  Please note that the tarmac carpark will only be available for disabled badge holders.  All other visitors will be asked to park on the grass car park. 

New entrance 

 The main entrance to the theatre will be by the viewing balcony entrance in the south west corner of the tarmac car park.  You may have to queue for admission to the theatre. Social distancing signage and designated queueing routes will be in place.  At the entrance you will need to show your admission ticket again before you enter the theatre.  

Visitors needing step-free access can make this clear when booking tickets and they will be directed to this entrance on arrival. 

In the theatre 

You will be asked to respect social distancing within the theatre and you may find that some paths are designated ‘one way’ to enable people to move safely around the space.   

Food and drink 

Hot and cold drinks, ice creams, homemade cakes, cream teas, pasties and light snacks will be available as takeaway items from the information shack in the carpark and the Terrace inside the theatre.  Our indoor café will be closed.   


The toilets inside the theatre will be available to our visitors but our public toilet in the car park will be closed. 

Gift shop 

Our indoor gift shop will not be open, but we will be selling a limited range of items from our new outlet in the tarmac carpark.  You will not be able to handle the goods, other than plants, before purchase, but our friendly staff will help you to make your choices. 

Making payments 

We ask all visitors to respect our cashless and paperless system.
