Minack is a working theatre, which means that hours for visiting are limited during the season. We often have Storytelling events on Monday, Wednesday & Friday morning, and matinee performances on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Please check our opening times for the day you intend to visit on the calendar opposite.
Wander the grassy terraces or just sit and look at the view. Access to the lower parts of the theatre can be restricted when rehearsals are taking place or when preparations are going on for a performance, but you are welcome to sit and watch as actors and directors work.
The fascinating story of the Minack Theatre is told in words, pictures and film, from the early life of founder Rowena Cade to today’s theatre with its vibrant programme of drama, music, opera and more.
Our fabulous sub-tropical gardens are an attraction in themselves. Many of our plants are more at home in the Canary Islands or South Africa, and you can even buy plants to take home to your own garden.
We think our café has the best view of any café in the world! We sell teas and coffees, cakes, light meals, pasties and Cornish cream teas and we’re open throughout the day. Please remember, the café is inside the theatre so it’s available only to visitors who have bought a ticket, or to play-goers. Our gift shop sells unique souvenirs of your visit, plus drinks and confectionery.
Dogs are welcome during visiting hours, but we regret that no dogs (except guide dogs) will be admitted to performances (except Minack Mornings storytelling events where they are allowed at the very top of the theatre only and not on the seating areas).
Here’s a helpful link for ‘doggy day care’ .
There is sufficient parking at the theatre for our customers, with disabled parking spaces near the entrance. There is no shade available.
Overnight parking is not permitted.
