Building a beautiful future

The theatre continues to evolve, and we take great care to make sure that new structures add to the inspired environment which Rowena Cade first dreamt of more than 80 years ago. Today’s theatre incorporates the latest technology in lighting and sound, all controlled from a small room built into a rocky outcrop above the stage.

Refreshments are available from the café and from a coffee shop halfway down the theatre, nestling under a slate roof and almost invisible from the seats above.

The Minack attracts more than 80,000 playgoers every year as well as more than 150,000 visitors who come to look round during the day, but the atmosphere of this unique theatre still reflects the vision of its founder Rowena Cade who created one of the world’s most beautiful theatres.
