Verdi’s massive setting of the Requiem brings music that vividly turns emotion into sound, with an immediacy that speaks to people who are familiar with the language of classical music and also to those who are not. There can be few more terrifying moments in all of music than the famous ‘Dies Irae’. This concert is an ideal one to try out with any friends who have not been to hear classical music before!
With the Three Spires Singers’ ongoing commitment to bring to Cornwall some of the finest soloists in the land, we look forward to welcoming Claire Rutter (soprano), Samantha Price (mezzo-soprano), David Webb (tenor) and David Stout (baritone), along with guest leader Nick Whiting at the helm of the massive orchestral forces.
Our conductor will be Christopher Gray, in his final concert with us after nearly 15 years’ association with the Singers.
