Set in a home for retired musicians, the relatively calm existence of three ex opera singers is thrown into turmoil by the arrival of a fourth. Not only is she a renowned diva and their stage partner but she is also the ex -wife of one of them and he is not pleased to see her!

Her arrival coincides with the re -release of their much-celebrated recording of the opera “Rigoletto” and inspires them to consider reprising their famous performance of “Bella Figlia dell’amore’’ from the opera for the annual Verdi celebration. But one major problem; a fourth member refuses to countenance the idea and the quartet looks to become a trio. But the show must go on!

This play has many layers drawing parallels between the characters and the roles they performed in ‘Rigoletto.’ Appearances are deceptive and long held secrets are gradually revealed, challenging and changing their beliefs about each other and gradually repairing old wounds.

A drama with humour it is saucy, funny, and touching. It examines love, friendship and forgiveness and some of the challenges of aging. Above all it celebrates growing old positively and maybe just a little disgracefully!

This heartwarming play will be performed by a highly experienced cast and supported by an amazing creative team. Find out more about The Gweek Players.
