Voice & Dialect Masterclasses with Elaine Claxton

Hall For Cornwall and The Minack Theatre are working in partnership to offer emerging practitioners the opportunity to develop their workshop leadership skills.

The Workshop Skills Development Package will have four elements:

Elaine will lead two Voice Masterclasses on Friday 4th March (venue tbc) this opportunity is subsidised by Hall For Cornwall and The Minack Theatre and as such is free of charge to practitioners.

Elaine has many years of experience teaching professional actors and those starting out on their career. She is often employed as a vocal and dialect coach on professional productions, she taught at RADA for several years and was on the RADA audition panel. As an actor Elaine is four times a member of the BBC Radio Drama Company, and has worked for the National Theatre for several seasons.

Voice Masterclass: 10:00 – 13:00

Elaine will create a bespoke Masterclass for participants, exploring exercises, strengths and weaknesses before moving on to text work. Participants will be invited to e-mail in advance regarding particular aspects of voice work they would like to explore. Ideal opportunity to brush up on technique!

Dialect Masterclass: 14:00 – 17:00

An opportunity for practitioners to explore dialect with Elaine, beginning with a general approach to technique, before using poetry to expand on this work. The Masterclass will be bespoke to participants, so requests for particular accents or dialects are very welcome.

Places on both of these masterclasses are limited, so please e-mail Kirsty: [email protected] to book a space as soon as possible.
