The Minack Theatre is run by a charitable trust set up by founder Rowena Cade in 1976, and her family is still involved in managing the trust today. The aim of the trust is to manage and develop the Minack, to promote live theatre and especially to encourage young people to get involved in drama.
The Minack relies solely for its income on selling tickets to playgoers and day-time visitors and the operation of its shop and cafe, and during the summer season the theatre employs more than 50 local people. The theatre and its shop and café is open year round for visitors.
The Minack has a growing education programme putting on theatre skills workshops for local schools and giving young people a chance to perform on our world-famous stage.
