When the teaching staff of Hilary Hall School for Boys are informed that their post-war haven of male domination is about to be billeted with `horror of horrors’ a girls school called St. Swithins, all hell breaks loose. Matters are further complicated by the arrival of the unwelcome invaders' matriarchal principal, Miss Whitchurch. For the headmaster Godfrey Pond and his loyal teaching staff, this can only mean the beginning of the end!
This wonderful farce by John Dighton captures a golden era of scholarly pursuits in keeping with such timeless classics as Tom Brown’s Schooldays and the St. Trinians saga. And who better to bring this well loved comedy to the Minack than Global Productions, the team behind Pygmalion (2005) and Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime (2007).
